I don't know how much room you have but pioneer makes some shallow mount subs. Check ebay. If you go look at the box i built for my girls car. It's two pioneer premier 10's and a 1200 watt amp. All for 300.

As for alarms i personally just like something that works. I preferably like python and viper alarms.

Then you need to look around for a class D mono amplifier.
i think i told you kicker makes some shallow mounts too.
but I'm not sure how good they are.

what your going to need to do tho is get a pencil n paper. and a measuring tap.
and go to under your seat, or wherever you want all this to go. measure it out and give us the dimensions. we could help ya alot better with what would fit in there then.

Maybe not that loud compared to a pair of 12's, but in a pickup a single 10" is plenty loud enough.

You'll be changing your tune when you get older Joel. After being told I have tinnitus and have already lost over 30% of my hearing, I tend to turn it down now. I'm now all about quality over quantity.

yeah, i like quality over loudness too, but ohh how much fun is it when ur breaking things with air pressure. blowing out seals, knocking mirrors off. even breaking glass if you hit over the 180db mark! lol. but i've never been a fan of 10's as i said they kinda punch me in the stomach.

Well I am again going to side with the old guy!!! LOL

I say a good 10 in a small truck will be better in the long run then blowing seals...

But if you want that you can still get it with the right 10 set up. But if you can find a way to fit 1 12 then that should also sound great. I love alpine and I have a type R 10 sitting out the house right now!

I installed a single Alpine 10" E-Type sub in a friends Bronco with a little Alpine 300 watt RMS amp and let me tell you, in an open area like a truck or SUV, that is all you really need. We aeroport tuned the box to 40Hz and that single 10" setup was putting a bunch of multi 12" setups to shame. Not only was it clear and tight punchy bass, but it would get down low and boom with the best of them courtesy of the port. I fabbed up a plug for the port so he could seal the box if he wanted. All in all, it was a great little system that cost a whopping $400 total, including wiring.

I heard there was a damsel in distress so I got here as soon as I could.
Hi, I'm Andy, long time forum guy, 1st time poster (In this thread)

A single 10 will not make you happy if you are used to a pair of 10s or 12s, but as it was stated in the small confines of a truck a single will do okay. I have a single RF 12 in my daily and it's enough for me, besides I still need the praticality in this ride. Check out Audio Enhancers website, I believe they make a dual box for that truck.

As far as alarms go I am more concerned about who will be putting it in vs what brand it is. An alarm is only as good as it's install and I have pulled cars into my shop where you have to kick the alarm brain out of the way to work the pedals.

I use Crimestopper mostly, DEI is okay, Python, Viper, Hornet, Clifford, etc but I am not too big a fan of the company.

And stay away from the talking ones, young kids will hit your ride just to hear it talk "hey Billy check this out, a talking car!"

If you're not used to any bass, I would definitely go with the MTX thunderforms setup. It will give you the added kick in the pants you're looking for, and it disappears into the interior so thieves won't see anything to entice them.
